This event is for incoming Thematic Option students only.

All first-year TO students must attend the mandatory Thematic Option Welcome on Friday, August 22nd. The event begins with check-in at 1:30pm in front of Taper Hall of Humanities (THH) on the Trousdale side and will end before 3:30pm. During this event, you will meet the other first-year TO students as well as your CORE 102 and CORE 111 faculty and attend the first meeting of your CORE 102 class. This is NOT Orientation; ALL first-years are required to attend the event in full. As such, please plan alternative times in your Trojan Welcome Experience schedule for other required meetings such as Entrance Loan Counseling. Here’s how to address a couple potential conflicts we often get questions about:

• If you want to attend the On-Campus Job Fair, plan to arrive when it begins at 1:00pm, and you’ll have plenty of time to get to THH for the TO check-in by 1:45pm. 
• If you’re in the Trojan Marching Band, you will likely have band camp activities scheduled during the TO Welcome, but your section leaders should excuse you for a couple hours—just ask them in advance and let them know this is a required meeting for an academic program.
